Breathedge For PC is a funny and exciting space survival simulator that blends the concepts of exploration, crafting, adventure, and dark humor into an experience of survival against all odds. After an accident, players will wake up stranded in the center of the universe, only equipped with a life support unit. Face depleted supplies and danger from every corner, players will discover how to combat solitude and learn more about the bizarre world they are in.
The bulk of the game is dedicated to exploring and resource management. As a stranded soul, the player has to float through outer space, gather resources, loot ships and other objects floating by, and fashion all sorts of tools, furniture, and gadgets that make life a little easier. Since you don’t breathe in space, one of the main resources becomes oxygen, which players will have to manage very carefully if they want to stay alive and reach new areas of the desolate landscape before their life support fails.
Apart from managing resources and other typical survival-survival mechanics, Breathedge really stands out with its funny approach to the grim genre. The tension of a survival scenario is constantly offset by goofy events, deadpan sarcasm and funny dialogues. I also really liked the colorful game world and funny spacecraft models; while floating through the void can be scary, you won’t stop admiring the creativity of developers.
Overall, Breathedge presents a refreshing experience by putting survival gameplay, humor, and story in one package. Such an combination of space exploration, crafting system, puzzles and wit makes the adventure highly addictive and I still look forward to see where this journey will lead me.
