About This Game XCOM 2 is a tactical turn-based strategy game where you are the commander of the resistance against an alien regime which has taken over Earth. It has been 20 years since the last game and the human resistance has been driven out and now fight from the shadows with daring missions around the world to take back their home. Every decision you make is important, from deciding the build order of your headquarters and researching better technology to recruiting, training, and designing unique soldiers.
You will strategically position your squad members during turn-based tactical combat while managing cover, using coordinated attacks against enemies, and trying to predict their movements.
In addition, when one of your soldiers dies permanently, the stakes of each mission skyrocket as you fight to preserve the last vestiges of the human resistance. Between missions you upgrade your mobile Avenger command base, unlock devastating weapons, research advanced armour, and construct facilities to increase your resistance efforts. XCOM 2 also uses procedurally generated missions meaning that no campaign will ever feel the same. With unique enemies, various missions objectives, and varied environments, you can continue to be challenged by XCOM 2’s varied and deep gameplay long into each campaign, and your leadership choices are paramount to victory.
