Assassin’s Creed II information
Arguably the best game in the Assassin’s Creed II series for most people, Assassin’s Creed II casts you in the role of Ezio Auditore da Firenze during the fantastic Renaissance Italy. An Italian young nobleman who sets out for revenge and later ascends to the rank of Master Assassin, the game sees the Assassin’s Creed series mature as players get to rub shoulders with the great Leonardo da Vinci and explore some of the most well-known and important cities in Italy.
The gameplay follows in the tradition of the first Assassin’s Creed but builds on it in many key ways. In Assassin’s Creed II players will be able to perform stealthy takedowns with the ever-present and trusty Hidden Blade, utilizing a plethora of different tools and gadgets while the parkour element has never felt more polished with a fluid and seamless climbing system. Players will be able to use crowds as cover, lost amongst the general public in cities like Florence, or if that fails, make a quick escape up the sides of tall buildings.
There are also plenty of other diversions to keep you entertained as you take part in your mission to destroy the Templar order. You can seek out treasure, complete challenging puzzles, acquire upgrades for your gear, purchase and upgrade villas scattered throughout Italy, and even discover secret tombs that require quite a bit of platforming skill to conquer.
Everything is rendered with breathtaking detail from the impressive architecture and vibrant cityscapes to the atmospheric score, Assassin’s Creed II truly encapsulates Renaissance Italy. It’s an amazing historical romp that proved just how great this franchise can be, and really laid the groundwork for many of the other excellent installments.
